Founder, Artist & Educator (She/Her)
Born in Brighton, UK, Jo’s path to hairdressing wasn’t planned - she calls it her “happy accident.” In 2004, while living in Spain, she enrolled in the equivalent of TAFE and discovered the craft that would shape her entire life. Hair chose her, not the other way around.
After moving to Australia, Jo continued growing her skills in the hair industry while dipping into hospitality, events, and even makeup,all of which helped sharpen her eye for detail, connection, and creativity. In 2018, Jo opened the first Dollie & Stella salon, a decision that happened quickly but changed everything. Now based in a larger, evolved space in Newtown, Dollie & Stella is approaching eight years in business and feels more aligned than ever.
Jo leads the salon with a new vision: one built on artistry, education, sustainability, inclusivity, and community. A true artist at heart, Jo is obsessed with texture, volume, individuality, and working with natural hair patterns. Her passion is helping people understand their hair.what it can do, how it moves, and how to style it confidently for real life. She believes hair should feel like you, only amplified.
Today, Jo is not only a stylist but an educator, sharing her knowledge of textured, curly, short, and creative hair with emerging stylists, seniors, and the broader industry. Dollie & Stella has grown into a space known for collaboration, growth, learning, and gratitude. values that Jo lives by every single day. Whether behind the chair or hosting education events, Jo brings heart, curiosity, and artistry to everything she does.

Eden
Master Stylist & Colourist (She/They)
With over eleven years of industry experience, Eden joined the team during their time in Marrickville and has been part of their growth journey to the new Dollie & Stella space in Newtown.
What Eden loves most about her work is the creative freedom her clients trust her with. She has a particular passion for vibrant and unconventional colouring, although she has an equal love for lived-in, natural and low maintenance manes. Blunt lines, to textured mullets - Eden loves to push the boundaries to create looks that are personalised to your lifestyle, personality and flare.
With a love for creativity, the arts and nature, if Eden's not singing along to her favorite song while foiling your hair, she's likely talking you through her latest creative endeavor or the best hike she went on recently.

Ravenna
Master Stylist & Colourist (She/Her)
Ravenna has been hairdressing for almost seven years, and what she loves most is meeting incredible humans and creating epic hair every single day. Collaboration is her happy place, she thrives when clients bring exciting, out-there ideas that she can bring to life with them.
Her inspiration comes from everywhere: artists like Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz, cartoons, anime, brightly coloured leaves, cool animals, and even bugs. If it’s visually interesting, she’s into it. She’s also completely obsessed with short haircuts - pixies, mod cuts, shags, mullets, and everything in between.
A horror-movie lover who still gets scared playing Minecraft, she spends an admittedly embarrassing amount of time watching other people play horror games. Recently, she’s rediscovered her love of drawing, and she loves how her art overlaps with her work behind the chair.
Being part of a space that embraces learning, creativity, and self-expression - for both the team and the clients - has been a dream for her. She’s genuinely excited for everything still to come.
