Master Stylist, Owner & Founder (She/Her)
Hailing from Brighton in the UK, Jo's hair journey began in high school in Alicante, Spain, back in 2004—it's like hair chose her! Since then, she's been a dynamo in the hairdressing industry, embracing the extremes in colouring and styling. In 2018, Jo founded Dollie & Stella - now located in Newtown, Sydney.
Whether it’s natural, lived-in looks, shags, and curly, textured, low-maintenance styles, or precision cuts and bold, imaginative colours, Jo’s got it covered. With a passion for growth and learning, she is veering towards a path of education, as sharing knowledge with others truly inspires her. Disco is her go-to soundtrack, and her three cats—Monte, Penny-Peach, and Sage—are her absolute pride and joy.
Eden
Master Stylist and Colourist (She/Her)
With over eight years of industry experience, Eden joined the team during their time in Marrickville and has been part of their growth journey to the new Dollie & Stella space in Newtown.
What Eden loves most about her work is the creative freedom her clients trust her with. She has a particular passion for vibrant and unconventional colouring, inspired by mermaids, unicorns, and mythical creatures. Additionally, she excels in creating natural blondes, balayage, and innovative styles that push new boundaries. A lover of curls and precision, Eden is truly a gem! If she’s not chatting with you in the chair, she’s likely singing while foiling at the same time.
Alan
Junior Stylist & Apprentice (They/Them)
I've been in the hair industry for 2+ years and loving it. I love the creative freedom and self-expression it offers to clients and us (stylists). I enjoy transforming personal styles and providing a space for self-discovery. I'm inspired by alternative looks and thinking outside the box. Right now, I'm into highly textured, layered and curly cuts. I enjoy creative colours like panels, confetti dyes, and colour blocking. I'm passionate about fostering a safe space for queer, trans and gender-diverse folks to explore self-expression. It's beautiful to see people come into their own, and being part in that process is epic! As an early career stylist, I'm eager to learn everything! I love hanging out with friends and my kitty. Cooking and dining out are my favourite things. Music is my lifeline -I'm obsessed with it!
Gidget
Stylist & Colourist (They/Them)
I have been in the hair industry for almost four years! I love the self-expression that comes with doing hair and enjoy bringing someone's inner persona out. I love when someone finds the perfect colour and cut for them, and it genuinely makes them feel much more confident!
My favourite hobbies are picnics with my puppy, taking him to markets and meeting other pups, cooking, hanging out with friends, and crafting! I’m inspired by people’s personal style and how I can enhance what makes them truly beautiful. I love listening to hyperpop, but I also absolutely adore Bob Marley.
My favourite look to create is pairing colour panels with sick textured cuts to bring out the beauty in each technique.
I’m most passionate about human interaction and how important just servicing someone's hair right can influence how they operate in the world!
Charlotte
Stylist & Colourist (She/Her)
I started working at my first salon when I was just 14. Hair is my passion because it allows me and my clients to get creative and express ourselves through our looks. One of my favourite things about hairstyling is connecting with people, helping them feel confident, and learning about their unique perspectives. I draw inspiration from enhancing natural beauty with sun-kissed, effortless looks and enjoy playing with fun colour placements, colour blocking, and dimensional vivids. In my spare time, you'll find me experimenting with new recipes in the kitchen or attending live music gigs of any genre. I love dancing, whether I'm with friends or busting out corny moves on my own. I'm deeply passionate about making people feel as beautiful and confident as possible. The bond and trust I share with my clients is incredibly rewarding, and I cherish the positive impact I can have on their lives.

With one year in the industry and many more ahead, I’m a first-year apprentice who absolutely loves every moment in the salon! What I adore most about Dollie and Stella is the creativity and self-expression that thrives there—seeing all the unique, alternative styles is incredibly inspiring. I’m captivated by how hair can be such a powerful form of expression, and I can’t wait to dive deeper into creating even more of it. I’m passionate about learning everything there is to know about hair, with a particular love for the art of colouring. I also enjoy watching how everyone in the salon brings their unique approach to their work—it’s always a fun and enriching experience training with the team and discovering new techniques.

Master Stylist & Colourist (She/Her)
I've been hairdressing for coming up to 7 years now! I love hairdressing because I get to meet so many awesome people and create new epic hair every day! I love the process of collaborating with our clients, I've had so many people come to me with exciting ideas that we turn into hairstyles together. I'm so inspired by art, and artists like Jamie Hewlett of Gorillaz, and I love when inspiration comes from all kinds of places like cartoons, anime, leaves with interesting colours, cool-looking animals and bugs! I'm obsessed with short haircuts; pixies, mod cuts, shags, mullets, and everything in between! I love horror movies but I get scared playing Minecraft so I spend an embarrassing amount of time watching other people play horror video games. I've been re-discovering my love of drawing and I love that it interacts with my work as a hairdresser! Being part of a space that embraces and encourages learning and self-expression both with our team and our clients has been so amazing, I'm so excited for what the future will bring!
